The History of this Page

These inspirations had humble beginnings in the last century, specifically the 1990’s. At that time I was collecting and compiling “thoughts of the day”, “messages of the day” and “electronic fortune cookies” that could be displayed randomly on an AS/400 green-screen. Many of the original messages included references to AS/400s, green-screens, listings, floppy disks, profit sharing, 401Ks, ESOPs, RPG, COBOL and other relics of a by-gone era. Oddly enough, COBOL is making a resurgence in 2020, showing that Life can have a sense of humor even in the darkest times. When Coronavirus or COVID-19 hit our world in 2020, I started collecting what I thought to be appropriate pandemic jokes when it became clear that many people were looking for a humorous way to deal with this terrible scourge. Please like or dislike as you wish, but I hope that most will bring an idea to your head, hope to your heart or a smile to your face.

Jean-Paul Sartre is sitting at a French cafe, revising his draft of Being and Nothingness. He says to the waitress, “I’d like a cup of coffee, please, with no cream.” The waitress replies, “I’m sorry, monsieur, but we’re out of cream. How about with no milk?”
